HERMOSA BEACH, CA — The 2019 Teen Choice Awards were held on August 11 in Hermosa Beach — and now the City of Hermosa Beach wants feedback on the event.

"TEEN CHOICE 2019 shined a national spotlight on Hermosa Beach, and the City looked great! We had beautiful weather and an excited crowd of local teens having an unforgettable afternoon seeing great performances and listening to inspiring messages that denounced bullying and urged them to always stand up for themselves and their unique gifts and talents," Hermosa Beach Mayor Stacey Armato said. "TEEN CHOICE 2019 was a joyful, family friendly event that attracted people from communities beyond the South Bay and resulted in not one single arrest related to the show or its audience. We were also pleased to see large crowds in Downtown businesses after the event."

However, because this was the first time Hermosa Beach hosted a live, nationally televised show with a large audience on its beach, the event "presented challenges for City staff, businesses and residents," Armato said.
