Hermosa Beach Considering Using Third Party to Manage Community Theatre
The City Council directed the Community Theatre Subcommittee at its Oct. 27 meeting to looking into that issue.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- The city of Hermosa Beach maybe looking for an outside group to program and manage the Hermosa Beach Community Theatre, according to the Beach Reporter.
The City Council directed the Community Theatre Subcommittee at its Oct. 27 meeting to looking into that issue. The 502-seat theater is currently underutilized and is need of upgrades if the space is to be used for professional performances.
The theater's current tenants, such as Family Theatre, Inc., are wary the using a third-party company will push out community groups, according to Beach Reporter. The City Council and members of the subcommittee are in agreement that even if a third-party company manages the theater, that the programming should remain community based.
