Hermosa Beach Ironman Subject of Documentary at Sunscreen Film Festival
The documentary, titled "Run Paddle Chug!' will look back the competition's raucous 42-year history

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — The raucous Hermosa Beach Ironman, a Fourth of July tradition in the South Bay, is the subject of a documentary set to debut at the annual Sunscreen Film Festival West next Thursday in Hermosa Beach.
The documentary, titled "Run Paddle Chug!' will look back the competition's 42-year history where competitors have run a mile, paddled a mile and chugged a six-pack of beer (and tried not to throw up) — hence the title. The film is directed by Robert Enriquez, the festival West Coast Editor, according to The Beach Reporter.
The film is a product of the SSFF's mentorship program, which gives local students filmmaking experience. Each year SSFF will feature a documentary about Hermosa Beach, such as the Ironman competition.

“It will help us bring more of the community to our festival,” Enriquez told the Beach Reporter. “By doing that every year, it will create a great synergy between the film festival and the community.”
