Hermosa Beach Man Injured in Deadly Northern California Crash
Investigators are looking into whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — A Hermosa Beach man was injured in a three-car crash in Northern California that killed a Concord woman, according to the California Highway patrol.
The crash happened on state Highway 1 last Monday night in uncorporated Santa Cruz County. The 40-year-old woman, whose name hasn't been released, was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra on southbound Highway 1 near Coast Road and Wilder Ranch State Park around 8:40 p.m., CHP officials said.
She drove the vehicle over double yellow lines into northbound lanes, where she collided with the side of a 2007 Toyota Prius and the front of a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to the CHP.

The GMC then erupted in flames and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP officials said.
The Jeep driver, a 56-year-old Hermosa Beach man, was transported to a hospital for broken legs and the Toyota driver, a 26-year-old Oakland woman, complained of pain to her side, according to the CHP.
