Hermosa Beach Manages To Balance Budget

The budget doesn't mean the city has a lot of money to deal with, it just means that revenues outpaced expenses, the city manager said.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Using one-time funds to offset shortages, Hermosa Beach officials have put together a balanced budget for the next fiscal year that will begin July 1, the Daily Breeze reported.

The proposed plan, with $39.6 million in general fund revenues and $37.7 million in expenses, will be voted by the city council June 15.

“There’s a balanced budget that projects that revenues will be outpacing expenses,” City Manager Sergio Gonzalez told Daily Breeze. “It doesn’t mean we have an abundance of money to deal with, but we have a balanced budget.”
