HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- The Hermosa Beach Police Department will host a coffee date with the community Friday as part of National Coffee with a Cop Day.  The department will host the event from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Java Man, 157 Pier Ave. Residents were urged to attend the event to get to know the officers patrolling the neighborhood.  "The Hermosa Beach Police Department is committed to breaking down barriers and building trust between police officers and the community we serve," the department said in a statement.  For questions about this event, please contact Georgia Moe at gmoe@hermosapolice.org.   -- Photo via Shutterstock
