Landmark Hermosa: Pinkie's BBQ

If you guessed Pinkie's BBQ on Pacific Coast Highway for this morning's trivia, you were right.

Pinkie, the cool, sunglasses-wearing pig, has been a part of Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach since 2008, when  restaurant opened.

Steve Francis, who has lived in Hermosa since 1976, told Patch on Friday that he opened the independent BBQ joint to share the hometown cookin' he enjoyed growing up in Missouri and Arkansas.

"The menu, everything here is from scratch. They’re family recipes," he said about the restaurant.

The menu includes baby back ribs, beef brisket, barbecue chicken, as well as sandwiches, southern-inspired appetizers and sides, and beer and wine.

Both  and  have mentioned the restaurant's mac-n-cheese as a favorite on the eatery's Patch . And Patch columnist  called the local BBQ restaurant his "hands down favorite Q place of them all."

The to-go containers at Pinkie's BBQ are made from 100 percent sugar can fibers and not Styrofoam, according to the company's website. The fibers are naturally biodegradable.
