Mural Underway on Manhattan Avenue
New Orleans Cajun Café wall serves as site of the Hermosa Beach 10-mural project's second display, which artist Chris Coakley tells Patch he aims to complete in one month.
As the sun began to set Thursday, depictions of Hermosa Beach circa 1907 gleamed on the side of at the corner of Pier and Manhattan avenues.
The painting serves as the second in the ’s initiative to complete 10 local murals around town in 10 years.
While working on the mural Thursday, local artist Chris Coakley told Hermosa Beach Patch that the piece should be finished in one month.

The in the Hermosa Beach Murals Project was painted on at 13th Court and Hermosa Avenue. It was formally unveiled in May.
