"Hey! It's summer! Be free and happy and danceful and uninhibited and now-y!" ~Terri Guillemets
Here are five things for your Tuesday in Hermosa Beach:
- Tuesday, July 22 is National Hot Dog Day, so get your doggers on! What's your favorite brand of hot dog, and where do you go when you need a hot dog fix?
- Make sure you're "Patched In" to get alerts on breaking news as it happens in town this week (and after), make sure you are signed up to get our emails. Click on the 'get the daily newsletter' at the top, right corner of this page. (If you see something that says, "hi, username," then you're already registered. In that case, click on "email settings" under the drop-down tab under your name.)
- Tell the city what you want to see analyzed in its upcoming Environmental Impact Report on a proposed oil drilling project from E&B Natural Resources during a public meeting Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Community Center, 710 Pier Avenue. Make your thoughts known. Make your voice count.
- Hermosa Beach native Sean Rosenthal is on the sand in Long Beach this week with partner Phil Dalhausser for the FIVB World Series of Beach Volleyball. Rosenthal told the Daily Breeze the 2016 Olympics is the duo's top goal, but right now they want to win the most tournaments they can. General admission to the tournament, which lasts through next weekend, is free. VIP packages, which include courtside seats, lunch and special access, are $50 a day. Call (310) 906-3806 for more information.
