'Tis The Season—in October?

Some stores start stocking up on Christmas items but Halloween hasn't even arrived yet. Is it too early to sell holiday decor for the winter? You tell us.

With Halloween around the corner, it’s just a matter of time before the winter holidays are upon us—and some Beach Cities stores are already well ahead of the game, stocking up for Christmas.

Holiday-themed candles were recently spotted at Target in neighboring Manhattan Beach and the U.S. Postal Service announced Thursday its new holiday stamps are now on sale.

"Holiday gift catalogs are already in the mail," said David Williams, network operations for USPS, in a statement. "Soon we’ll be delivering millions of extra packages, cards and letters. Many of them will be dressed in their holiday best — wearing one of the 2011 holiday stamps we are dedicating."
