Weekend: Fiesta Hermosa, Film Fest

Fiesta Hermosa is expected to take over downtown Hermosa Beach this weekend, and a film festival will be held at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse.

Fiesta Hermosa

Where and when: Pier and Hermosa avenues, Hermosa Beach; Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Why go: Head over to in Southern California featuring more than 270 crafters and artists, live music, a children’s carnival area, foods from around the world and a beer garden. Plus, Patch will be there with giveaways and prizes—stop by and say "hi."

Project style-off

Where and when: South Bay Galleria, 1815 Hawthorne Blvd., Redondo Beach; Saturday, 1 to 3 p.m.

Why go: Join former Project Runway contestant Nick Verreos and makes the stylish cut for Top Trendsetter. Vote for your favorite and score some tips for your own wardrobe.

Beach shorts film festival

Where and when: Hermosa Beach Playhouse, 710 Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach; Saturday, 7 p.m.

Why go: Bring the whole family and about surfing and the beach. Prizes, raffles and unique vendors are all on the bill.

Concerts in the park’s grand finale

Where and when: Polliwog Park, 1601 Manhattan Beach Blvd., Manhattan Beach; Sunday, 5 to 7 p.m.

Why go: Don’t miss of this summer’s Concerts in the Park music series. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of the Beach Cities Swing Band.
