Wind Advisory, Beach Hazards Issued In Hermosa Beach: NWS
The National Weather Service is warning beachgoers to stay out of the water and drive with caution as winds whip up to 40 mph.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — The National Weather Service issued several advisories in Hermosa Beach Monday in anticipation of heavy winds.
A Beach Hazards Statement and High Surf Advisory are in effect from Monday at 6 p.m. until Tuesday at 3 a.m. PT.
With winds of up to 35 miles an hour predicted Monday night and Tuesday along the coast, the NWS warns of "large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet with dangerous rip currents" along the Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. The NWS warns that rip currents are resulting in an increased risk of drowning, and warns beachgoers to stay out of the water.

A wind advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday along the Malibu coast, due to winds up to 40 mph in the evening could possibly increase to 55 mph overnight.
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for drivers of high-profile vehicles. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," NWS said. Drivers are warned to use extra caution.
