Wind Gusts Expected In Hermosa Beach

A wind advisory is in effect through Friday along the Los Angeles coast.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory from Thursday through Friday along the Los Angeles County and Ventura County coast.

The wind advisory includes the cities of Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Malibu, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Los Angeles and Long Beach, according to the National Weather Service. Hermosa Beach could also see some wind gusts.

Northeast winds from 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph are expected to hit coastal Los Angeles County from 7 p.m. Thursday to 4 p.m. Friday, the NWS reports.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," according to the NWS. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Major roadways that could be impacted by the gusty winds include Highways 1 and 101."

Drivers are urged to use extra caution while driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Residents should secure outdoor objects.
