Highland Park School On Lockdown Due To Bomb Threat
An investigation is ongoing in Highland Park where a telephone bomb threat forced the lockdown of a high school.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Franklin High School in Highland Park was locked down for about two hours Monday in response to an anonymous phone call claiming there was a bomb on campus.
Officers went to the school at 820 N. Avenue 54 about noon. According to Los Angeles School Police Department, an unknown person called the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division "stating there was a bomb on campus."
The school was locked down while a search was conducted, and school police said "all students and staff are safe."

Shortly after 2 p.m., school police officials said the search had ended with "no weapons or bombs being found." The lockdown was lifted and normal operations resumed on campus, police said.
