Teatro Arroyo's mission is to become a cultural center of Northeast L.A.

A new theater company based in Highland Park and consisting of neighborhood residents has set out to become a cultural hub for training Northeast L.A. artists and producing everything from music, poetry, dance and video to comedy, films, festivals and plays.
Called Teatro Arroyo, the theater group presented its first show on Sunday at the La Tierra de la Culebra, a two-acre community "art park" located at 240 S. Ave. 57, according to the Eastsider L.A.
Teatro Arroyo staged part of Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream at the art park on the first day of autumn, the Eastsider noted.
