Woman, 89, Killed Hollywood Apartment
A suspect is in custody in Hollywood where an elderly woman was found dead of blunt force trauma.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — An 89-year-old woman was found dead Wednesday at a Hollywood apartment building, and an approximately 30-year-old man was taken into custody.
Authorities responded to the four-story building in the 7000 block of Hawthorn Avenue, near La Brea Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, about 12:35 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A detective told reporters at the scene that the victim suffered blunt force trauma.

The suspect was visiting the woman when the two got into an argument and the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a blunt object, according to Officer Tony Im of the LAPD's Media Relations section.
No details were immediately available about how the man and woman were related, if at all, or what sparked the argument.
