Man Dead, Child Injured, 7 Displaced When Car Crashes Into Apartment: Reports

A fatal and destructive crash on Western Avenue led to people being displaced Wednesday night, according to reports.

LOS ANGELES, CA — One person was killed, a child was injured and seven people were displaced from their home when a driver crashed through an apartment building on Western Avenue early Wednesday morning, according to reports.

The crash occurred at 1836 N. Western Ave., between Franklin Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, at around 1:30 a.m.

The driver was traveling southbound on Western and tried to make a left turn, but lost control and slammed into the apartment building, KTLA reported.

A 50-year-old man and a 9-year-old boy were trapped under the car. Firefighters extricated them, according to KTLA.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, NBC 4 reported.

A 34-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, KTLA reported.
