Critics Choice Awards 2025: Complete List Of Winners

"Anora" wins Best Picture. "The Substance," "Wicked" and "Emilia Pérez" nab three wins apiece. "Shōgun" and "Hacks" score big on TV side.

SANTA MONICA, CA — “The Substance,” “Emilia Pérez,”and “Wicked” were the big winners of the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, continuing their streak this awards season with three accolades apiece. However, Neon's "Anora" stole the show with a big surprise win, picking up Best Picture at the annual gala event presented by the eponymous guild to celebrate the finest in film and television achievement.

Rescheduled twice this year due to the California wildfires, the 30th Critics Choice Awards finally took place Friday night with Chelsea Handler as the host of the award show for the third consecutive year.

"The Substance," a body horror film about the trials and tribulations of an aging actress, won Best Actress for Demi Moore, Best Adapted Screenplay for Coralie Fargeat and Best Hair and Makeup.

“Emilia Pérez,” a musical-crime drama about a ruthless cartel leader gone incognito, took home trophies for Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña, Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Original Song for “El Mal.”

“Wicked,” a musical-fantasy film about the complex friendship between the future Wicked Witch of the West and the future Glinda the Good, also scored big wins, including a surprise Best Director for Jon M. Chu, Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.

Adrien Brody nabbed Best Actor for his role of a visionary architect in “The Brutalist." Meanwhile, Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for his role of a high-spirited young man in “A Real Pain.”

On the TV side, “Shōgun,” FX’s epic historical series centering on the internal conflicts within Japan’s 17th – century shogunate era, reigned supreme, winning four awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Drama Actor for Hiroyuki Sanada, Best Supporting Drama Actress for Moeka Hoshi and Best Supporting Drama Actor for Tadanobu Asano. The only acting prize the series did not win was Best Drama Actress, which ultimately went to Kathy Bates for her role of a brilliant lawyer in the CBS reboot “Matlock.”

“Hacks,” a dramedy series about a legendary comedian and an up-and-coming comedy writer, also won top honors, including wins for Best Comedy Series, Best Comedy Actress for Jean Smart, and Best Comedy Supporting Actress for Hannah Einbinder.
