DUI Checkpoint Planned Friday

Expect police to be checking for signs of drug and alcohol impairment in Hollywood.

Los Angeles police will conduct a sobriety and license checkpoint in Hollywood Friday night.

Police will be checking for signs of drug and alcohol impairment at a checkpoint positioned at El Centro and Argyle avenues from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., according to a news release provided by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Impaired drivers can expect jail, license suspension, and insurance increases, as well as fines, fees, DUI classes, court probation and other expenses.

Checkpoint funding is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
