Hit-And-Run Driver Arrested After 101 Freeway Standoff
A man was arrested Wednesday morning after a standoff that followed a hit-and-run crash.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — A driver suspected in a hit-and-run crash was arrested on the Hollywood (101) Freeway in Hollywood Wednesday morning following a short chase and standoff.
Officers began chasing the suspect at about 8:55 a.m. Wednesday on the southbound side of the freeway north of Laurel Canyon Boulevard after he failed to yield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver headed south toward downtown Los Angeles, coming to a stop in the far left lane near Sunset Boulevard and a number of officers in squad cars pulled up behind, got out and pointed their firearms at the vehicle.

As the standoff continued, southbound traffic was allowed to pass in the far right lane.
The standoff lasted about 15 minutes before officers approached the vehicle and took the suspect into custody.
