Officer Shoots At Coyote As It Attacks Child At Cal State LA

A coyote attacked a child at Cal State Los Angeles Wednesday night forcing a campus officer to shoot at the animal.

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA — A campus police officer fired at a coyote that was attacking a child at Cal State Los Angeles Wednesday evening.

The shooting was reported about 8:15 p.m., according to Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department, which was assisting in the shooting investigation.

The child's condition was not immediately available.

The coyote may have been struck, but it ran off, according to a report from the scene.
