Runyon Canyon Brush Fire Contained

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

HOLLYWOOD HILLS, CA โ€” Firefighters knocked down a small brush fire burning in the Runyon Canyon area Thursday afternoon.

The blaze broke out shortly before 4 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Runyon Canyon Road in remote terrain at the base of a ravine in Runyon Canyon Park, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"Firefighters swiftly hiked into the remote location to confine and extinguish flames within a roughly 50' x 50' area within Runyon Canyon Park in just 44 minutes," said Brian Humphrey, LAFD spokesman.

"Crews will remain on scene this evening to establish a bare soil perimeter and further extinguish embers," he added.

No structures were threatened, and no one was hurt in the blaze.
