With "A Star is Born" co-stars Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, Sam Elliott sank his hands and feet into he cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Actor Sam Elliott sank his hands and feet into cement Monday in the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, honoring a career that began in the late 1960s and has spanned from television Westerns to "A Star is Born."

"To be here today and to be part of this history at Grauman's is something that I never reckoned with before," Elliott told NBC4. "I never expected or dreamed about it. It's just something that I think out of good fortune that I've had in my career over the years, the kindness of a lot of people and a certain amount of press thrown into it I think that's the reason I'm here today."

Elliott received a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role for his portrayal of the older half-brother and manager of singer-songwriter Jackson "Jack" Maine (Bradley Cooper) in "A Star is Born."

"Acting alongside of him was a dream fulfilled for me. He is the kind of guy who raises the bar for everyone, whether you're in front of the camera or behind the camera.

"Directing Sam was and will remain one of the highest points in my career."
