Batman Midnight Screenings Planned in Hollywood

Theater-goers watching 'The Dark Knight Rises' can take part in a movie marathon and see some of the movie's iconic props.

Planning to see the final installment of the Batman trilogy this week? 

As thousands of fans flock to Thursday's midnight release of The Dark Knight Rises and screenings this weekend, those in Hollywood will beneft from some extra perks at local theaters.

At Universal CityWalk Cinemas, starting at 8 p.m., the theater will have a DJ spinning music. Fans will also be treated to the first public display in Los Angeles of the film's iconic 2-ton "Camo Tumbler," the latest iteration of the Batmobile.

By Wednesday morning, many tickets had been sold, said a Universal spokeswoman. The film is expected to be shown on about 19 screens at CityWalk.

At , the theater is hosting a special movie marathon to mark the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. ArcLight is running all three films Thursday night culminating with the already sold out premiere of the final movie at midnight.

On Saturday the "Camo Tumbler" will make its way to ArcLight Hollywood. The Tumbler  as well as the costumes worn by Batman, Catwoman and Bane will be on display. ArcLight will be the only theater in the U.S. to host the costumes while the movie is in theaters, said a representative for the ArcLight.
