The operation stems from the service of a warrant serving a search warrant related to illegal gambling and drugs.

EAST HOLLYWOOD, CA โ€” A Los Angeles Police Department SWAT team used tear gas Friday evening to clear a building in Koreatown where they were serving a search warrant related to illegal gambling and drugs.

A SWAT team was called to the 200 block of North Vermont Avenue near Beverly Boulevard about 4:30 p.m., according to Officer Drake Madison of the LAPD's Media Relations Section.

The SWAT team tossed smoke grenades into the building when most of the people inside refused officers' commands to exit, ABC7 reported.
