A long-time independent video rental store popular among Hollywood residents, has closed after 30 years in the community.
Rocket Video at 315 N La Brea Ave. closed on Oct. 7.
Former store manager Jeffrey Miller shares his favorite memories (quirky celebrity stories included) and the reason why one of the city's last independent video rental stores closed its doors, on Zócalo Public Square.

He writes "...the reasons for Rocket’s demise were what you’d expect: new technologies, Netflix, a bad economy, and fewer customers. The owners of Rocket Video felt they were investing a lot and getting very little return."
