This weekend, two new releases are headed to theaters. In the thriller "Serenity," Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway play an ex-married couple toying with right versus wrong.
Meanwhile, in the family-friendly adventure film, "The Kid Who Would Be King," the Arthurian legend is told with a modern spin, starring Louis Ashbourne Serkis, Rebecca Ferguson and Patrick Stewart.

Past and present collide in Steven Knightโs latest feature which centers around morality. The film stars Matthew McConaughey as Baker Dill, a former military man-turned fishing boat captain who takes tourists fishing aboard โSerenity,โ his two-engine boat.
On the surface, Dill is seemingly enjoying life, but deep inside, he is a scarred man drowning his sorrows in booze. One day, his ex-wife Karen (Anne Hathaway) suddenly shows up at his doorstep with a shocking revelation. As it turns out, her wealthy husband Frank (Jason Clarke) is physically abusing her and she fears for the safety of their young son Patrick.
Feeling trapped and desperate, she tries to convince Dill to murder Frank. In exchange, Karen will pay him handsomely with 10 million dollars. Will Dill give in to temptation?
See it. The complexity of the screenplay will keep you guessing until the end. Plus, the leads are stellar in their performances.

Joe Cornishโs โThe Kid Who Would Be King,โ delves into the Arthurian legend and the power of Excalibur.
At the center of the family-friendly adventure, which takes place in modern times, is Alex (Louis Ashbourne Serkis), a 12-year-old boy who is often a target of bullies in school. That is, until his life takes a drastic turn when he unwittingly finds a sword in a stone while wandering in a construction site.
Soon enough, the youngster pulls it out and discovers that it is, in fact, the legendary sword of King Arthur. Meanwhile, wicked enchantress Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson), Arthurโs half-sister, summons evil forces to take over the streets of London.
With the help of the wizard Merlinโ a young man (Angus Imrie) who can transform into his older self (Patrick Stewart)โ Alex assembles his own band of young knights to stop Morgana and her forces of darkness. Can our young heroes save the day?
See it. The feel-good movie will dazzle the whole family with its action-packed sequences, comedic turns and empowering message of unity.
