Woman Pleads To Random Beating Of 91-Year-Old Man
Laquisha Jones faces 15 years behind bars in connection with the unprovoked beating of an elderly man in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A woman pleaded no contest Thursday to a felony elder abuse charge stemming from an attack with a brick on a 91-year-old grandfather who was beaten in Willowbrook on the Fourth of July.
Laquisha Jones of Los Angeles, 30, is facing 15 years behind bars in connection with the apparently unprovoked attack, according to Ricardo Santiago of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
The aftermath of the attack was captured on cell phone video that showed Rodolfo Rodriguez on the ground, with blood covering much of his face.

Rodriguez suffered several broken bones, including a shattered jaw and a pair of broken ribs, and a gofundme page established by his family has raised more than $327,000.
Jones was arrested by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies six days later, and has remained behind bars since then, according to jail records.

Along with the elder abuse charge, Jones admitted the allegations that she used a weapon -- a brick -- and that she had a prior conviction from 2017 for criminal threats, according to Santiago.
She is due back in a Compton courtroom for sentencing Feb. 28.
