HOLLYWOOD, CA — The 101 Freeway was shut down Tuesday so authorities could rescue a woman who was apparently preparing to jump off an overpass.

The woman was originally on the edge of the Cahuenga Boulevard overpass in Hollywood before she moved onto the freeway towards the center divider at around noon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"LAFD fighters were able to shut down the freeway and make contact with the (uninjured) patient," the LAFD said.
