Your Picks for the Worst Intersections and Roads in Hollywood

Busy intersections and potentially dangerous turns top a list of your picks for the worst driving spots in Hollywood. Check out the below map for problem areas across L.A. County.

Last week we asked Patch readers in Los Angeles County to name their worst intersections, roads and freeway spots; and with your input, we produced the above map from reader contributions.

Busy intersections and potentially dangerous turns topped a list of your picks for the worst driving spots in Hollywood.

One reader noted the busy intersection at Vine Street and Hollywood Boulevard: "Drivers going north trying to park on Vine or turn east on Hollywood have a lot to process—cyclists, pedestrians, tourists not paying attention to safety, plus a lot of traffic."

The intersection at Fountain Avenue and Highland Avenue is "extraordinarily busy," one reader said:  "Extraordinarily busy intersection at morning and evening rush, with cars trying to make left turns from Highland unable to see both lanes of oncoming traffic. Also, Fountain Avenue is a designated bike lane, so traffic is almost always complicated by cyclists. There are always idiots on Highland who try to squeeze through yellow lights as they're turning red, and then they sit there in the middle of the intersection blocking traffic."

Another reader pointed out a potentially dangerous left turn at Santa Monica Boulevard and Highland Avenue: "No left turn arrow while turning against three lanes of fast-moving traffic."

Please check out the map above for more reader-generated problem intersections and freeway spots.

How to Add Your Own Contribution to the Map

It's not too late to add your own — simply click the "Add" button in the upper-right corner of the map and enter the location of the problem area and a description of the problem. You can also drag the marker directly onto the map if you are not sure how to describe the intersection. Where else in Hollywood is a concern for you? Tell us in the comments section below.
