  1. The Long Beach Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard responded Sunday to reports of a missing diver off HB’s coast. The search focused on the area around the Elly Oil platform. This diver was part of a dive group. (CBS)
  2. There was a fatal hit-and-run Sunday morning. A 62-year-old woman was crossing “near Beach Boulevard and Lampson Avenue at around 2:45 a.m.” Investigators believe that the vehicle hitting her was a “2007 to 2009 Toyota Camry” of an unknown color. At this time, investigators are looking for possible surveillance footage from nearby businesses. If you have any information, please call the Sheriff’s Department at (714) 628-7170. (The OCR/paywall)
  3. On Saturday, a 71-year-old man lost his life while riding his bike. I happened near Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley. Although a hit-and-run, the PD was able to track down the vehicle and the 32-year-old driver. “She was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, felony hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.” (BikinginLA)
  4. Project Hope Alliance is expanding “from Newport Mesa Unified School District to both Santa Ana schools and Huntington Beach High School.” We learned Friday that the program, which serves homeless learners from kindergarten through high school, allows caseworkers to be on “all campuses in real-time, to help students when help is needed.” (Patch)
  5. Last week Saturday, the St. Peter's by the Sea Church held its monthly bottle and can drive, which benefits the choir program. Collecting these recyclables allows the church to spend about $100 on its choir every month. A volunteer then takes the cans and bottles to the Ralph's at Meadowlark Plaza on Warner to be recycled.
