2. Samuelis Expand Giving to Community Colleges - Orange County Business Journal (ocbj.com) — A major new Samueli Foundation grant will help Golden West College in Huntington Beach nearly double its nursing enrollment by 2027, hiring more faculty and strengthening hospital partnerships. 3. A woman was arrested after passing out in her vehicle in coastal O.C. (newsantaana.com) — Huntington Beach police recently arrested a woman found passed out in a running vehicle, and say she faces serious DUI and narcotics-related penalties as a repeat offender. The department is using the case to warn residents about strict California DUI consequences and to urge holiday partygoers to plan sober rides, emphasizing that officers will be actively looking for impaired drivers.

4. Over $20K worth of drugs seized at a north Orange County traffic stop (newsantaana.com) — A recent North Patrol traffic stop in north Orange County led to the seizure of over $20,000 in meth and crack, affecting areas they police in and around Huntington Beach’s unincorporated county islands. Deputies say they handle more than 70,000 calls a year, underscoring ongoing drug-enforcement activity in communities neighboring city residents.
