Beach Hazard Issued In Imperial Beach For Memorial Day
If you plan on heading to the beach for Memorial Day, stay out of the water.

IMPERIAL BEACH, CA — If you’re planning on doing a Memorial Day barbecue on the beach, be careful: the National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for Imperial Beach and the San Diego coast from Sunday at 2 p.m. to Tuesday at 11 p.m.
Surf of 5 to 8 feet is expected, along with a high risk of dangerous rip currents. Winds of 18 mph are predicted Monday in Imperial Beach, so if you’re headed to the beach, hold down your picnic blankets with rocks, and stay out of the water.
Other than that, Monday is expected to be warm and partly cloudy. In Imperial Beach, Accuweather predicts a high of 67 degrees and 50% cloud cover are expected.

Similar weather is expected over the weekend, with highs of 67 and 66 predicted for Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
