SAN DIEGO, CA — Firefighters on the ground and in the air were battling a 60-acre vegetation fire Sunday southeast of Otay Reservoir, Cal Fire San Diego said.

At 1:18 p.m., the fire was 5% contained with a moderate rate of spread, according to Cal Fire.

"Difficult ground access and smoky conditions remain," Cal Fire tweeted. "Multiple agencies engaged in the firefight."

The fire was first reported shortly before noon Sunday at 10 acres.
