IB Drivers See Rising Gas Prices in Six-Day Surge
Gas prices have gone up for six days, but the cheapest gas in Imperial Beach is still just under $4 per gallon.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose six-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.053, one day after increasing nine-tenths of a cent.
The average price has risen six consecutive days and is 3.4 cents more than one week ago, 6.6 cents higher than one month ago and 35.9 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The cheapest gas in Imperial Beach can be found at NEX Autoport, for $3.89 per gallon, or at the 7-Eleven at 1311 Palm Ave. for $3.97 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

The rising prices stem from concerns over supplies caused by "exports of refined gasoline to more profitable markets overseas and continued refinery issues," according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
