Kids Blitz Easter Eggs at Pier Plaza

It took kids less than five minutes to collect thousands of Easter eggs.

Hundreds of kids from zero to 12-years-old rushed a field of thousands of eggs at Pier Plaza Saturday morning.

It took basket wielding participants less than five minutes to chase down 10,000 eggs, said organizer Evelyn Ramseier.

Roughly 25 volunteers helped set up and lay out eggs Saturday morning. The Easter Bunny aka Peter the Rabbit, was also in attendance.

After no egg hunt was held last year, Ramseier picked up the duty of organizing the egg hunt, and with sponsorship from generous local businesses, pulled the egg hunt together in less than a month.

Richard and Cheryl Schaumburg hosted the free event for the entire community in past years.
