Man Allegedly Threatens to Burn Down Home in Dispute

A fight between acquaintances led a man to pull a knife, threaten to burn a house down and vandalize a car.

During an altercation between two men early Sunday morning in the 1100 block of Florence Street, 36-year-old Raul Sanchez allegedly pulled a knife on the other and threatened to burn down his home, Sgt. Joel Stranger said.

Sanchez was arrested at 2:34 a.m. and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, threatening crime with intent to terrorize, vandalism and likely to cause harm or death of an elder or dependent adult.

"This was an ongoing acquiantance between acquaintances," Stranger said. "Because the mom was there and she's over 62, because of that threatened to burn the house down they charged him with elder abuse."
