New 13th Street Businesses, Apartments Near Complete
Construction of the new business and residential spaces is expected to finish in the next two months, the owner said.
In the place of an old home and what used to be Mike's Upholstery, new commercial and residential mixed-use buildings will be completed within the next two months, said property owner Kamal Nona, whose Babal, LLC also owns and operates nearby 13th Street Market.
The new mixed-use buildings at 1120 13th St. and 1150 13th St. are owned by the Kamal H. Nona Living Trust, according to the County of San Diego Assessor's Office, and will look similar to other mixed-use buildings in the 1100 block of 13th Street.
At each 5,800 square foot lot down the street from one another, a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath apartment will function atop two ground floor businesses.

Businesses to operate in the spaces have not yet been selected, Nona said.
