Community members describe Gates’ struggles and kindness, question why he wasn’t hospitalized earlier, and note multiple investigations now underway into the shooting and deputies’ actions.
   

• SDG&E Prices Rising Again This Month (voiceofsandiego.org) — Imperial Beach residents will see higher SDG&E charges this month, with delivery-only customers paying about 7.4% more, or roughly $4 extra on an average monthly bill. The actual electricity supply for Imperial Beach is bought through San Diego Community Power, which will likely set new power rates at its Jan. 15 meeting, potentially affecting total bills further.
