Pedestrian Killed on I-805

A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian on Interstate 805 in the South Bay Thursday.

The fatality occurred about 9:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway, near Division Street in National City, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.

Traffic was heavy in the area for nearly two hours while authorities investigated and removed the body from the roadway, the CHP reported.
