Sentencing Rescheduled for Nestor Man Convicted of Murder

Sentencing was rescheduled today to June 20 for a Nestor man who fatally stabbed an acquaintance near strawberry fields in southern Chula Vista.

Hector Pablo Molina, 59, was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of 55-year-old David Lee Craig.

Molina was arrested about 45 minutes after a mortally wounded Craig was found near the 2800 block of Main Street the afternoon of June 3, 2013.

A witness saw the assailant flee in a red pickup and wrote the license plate number in some roadside dirt. Chula Vista police then traced the vehicle to a home in the 2100 block of Clairton Place, where Molina was arrested.

Craig lived in a van and apparently looked after the farmland where he was slain.
