Snack Bar Lotto Winner May Lose in the End

Wednesday is the deadline to turn in a Mega Millions lottery ticket bought last year at Naval Base San Diego and worth nearly $171,000.

The ticket, purchased at the Escape Snack Bar for the Sept. 14 drawing, matched all but the Mega number. The winning numbers were 40, 21, 51, 16 and 17, with a Mega number of 20.

Winners have six months to claim their prize, or the money is set aside for schools. The deadline is 5 p.m., lottery officials said.

The San Diego office is at 5656 Ruffin Road.
