Two Drivers Arrested at DUI Checkpoint
Deputies also issued 11 citations and six cars were impounded.

Two drivers were arrested overnight during a DUI checkpoint in Imperial Beach, sheriff's deputies reported.
More than 1,000 cars passed through the checkpoint, which was held from 8:30 p.m. Saturday to 2:30 a.m. today, at the intersection of Palm Avenue and 9th Street. Thirty-three cars underwent secondary inspections, two drivers were arrested on suspicion of being drunk of drugged, 11 citations were issued for vehicle code violations and six cars were impounded, according to Sgt. Laura D. Spang.
A grant from the Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration funded deputy overtime associated with this DUI Check Point.
