Will Jerry Brown Send National Guard Troops To Border?

All governors of the border states agreed to send troops at President Donald Trumps' call except Gov. Jerry Brown.

CALIFORNIA -- California could be the lone border state to ignore President Donald Trump's calls to send National Guard troops to the border. The Desert Sun reported governors of Texas, New Mexico and Arizona "have committed" to following Trump's efforts to secure the U.S.-Mexico border.

But, it's unclear what Gov. Jerry Brown will do.

"Brown, usually quick to criticize the president and set California up as a liberal foil to the current administration, has yet to say if he’ll comply with the president’s directive or will refuse to send California National Guardsmen to the border to assist U.S. Border Patrol with immigration enforcement," the Desert Sun reported.

Last week, Trump ordered the Department of Defense to work with border states to send troops to the border. Trump campaigned on the promise to secure the border to prevent immigrants from crossing into the U.S. illegally.

Lt. Col. Tom Keegan of the California National Guard told the Desert Sun he "was awaiting details about 'funding, duration and end date'" of having troops at the border.
