Crescenta-Cañada Rotarians Judge Art Contest

The culinary arts students at La Cañada High School prepared a dinner for the judges, prior to the contest.

It was the cardboard animal heads that most impressed the judges.

Crescenta-Cañada Rotarians recently judged student art projects at La Cañada High School.

Before the judging, the culinary art students participated in a chili cookoff as well as prepared a dinner for the Rotarians. The highlight, according to Joe Kroening, was the judging of desserts for both appearance and taste. Rotarians Fred Konrad and Fred Engler had to taste the samples multiple times to be sure, Kroening joked.

The judges viewed and voted on paintings, certamics, photography, and sculpturing. The animals heads, made from recycled cardboard boxes, were most impressive, Kroening said.
