Los Altos Auxiliary of Sycamores is excited to partner with La Canada’s renown Apple Cart, to
raise funds for the 2022 Holiday of Wishes project to provide special hand-picked holiday gifts
to youth at Sycamores’ El Nido group residential campus in Altadena and the young adults
transitioning out of the foster care system in the Transitional Independent Living Program.
On Saturday, December 3, the Apple Cart will donate 10% of sales to Los Altos’ Holiday of
Wishes project.
“Peggy Stevens and the Apple Cart have supported local charities for decades. We are proud to
encourage our members, friends, and everyone to start their holiday shopping at the Apple Cart
on Saturday, December 3. Get some exceptional holiday presents and participate in our
important holiday gift project for El Nido and Sycamores’ youth,” explained Los Altos President
Lauri Rodli.
Apple Cart owner Peggy Stevens added, “We are delighted to support Los Altos and the very
special, hands-on compassionate work they do for foster youth in our local area.”
According to Debra Manners, Sycamores’ President and CEO, “Last year, thanks to Los
Altos’ supporters, 187 youth at Sycamores opened nearly 500-holiday gifts. It is our
hope that this year, together, we can provide an equally powerful message of caring and
support for youth separated from family during the holidays.”
For the past 30 years, Los Altos Auxiliary efforts have improved the quality of life at Sycamores’
El Nido campus with large-scale capital improvements, including the first on-campus library,
computer lab, a silk-screening business, cottage bathroom remodels, landscaping, and an

outdoor entertainment center, as well as social and outdoor adventures-off-campus, holiday
parties, birthday celebrations, graduation ceremonies, and movie nights.

The mission of Los Altos is to enhance and enrich the lives of the youth, adults and families at
the El Nido campus community and Sycamores. Collaborating with the remarkable Sycamores’;
staff, they serve the youth at El Nido by providing enhancement activities and personal gifts
that provide comfort and care throughout the year. They volunteer so El Nido youth can lead
healthier, happier, more productive lives.
