Non-profit Caltech Y welcomes new leadership and members!
New Board leaders proud to serve the Caltech and Pasadena community!
The Caltech Y, an independent nonprofit that empowers Caltech students to become responsible citizens of the world, welcomed new members and leaders to its volunteer board of directors. Caltech students, alumni, faculty, and staff as well as local community leaders make up the board’s 24 members. Together, they will ensure the Caltech Y fulfills its mission and will strategically map its future.
Guided by five pillars—leadership, service, civic engagement, adventure, and perspective—Caltech Y members travel the world, tutor local students, dialogue with elected officials, and more. Established in 1916, the Caltech Y was founded by Caltech students and continues to be affiliated with the Institute.
“Our new leaders and members bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to enriching the lives of youth and young adults,” says Athena Castro, executive director of the Caltech Y. “As the Caltech Y seeks to expand our community partnerships, we will benefit from their ideas and network.”
