Postcards from Chilao Calendar to benefit local non profit

Redbird's 2024 Postcards from Chilao calendar keeps the Angeles National Forest close, even when the roads are closed.

Chilao is one of the most beloved recreation areas in the Angeles National Forest. But road closures due to storm damage have closed public access to the forest since March 2023. There was record snowfall, followed almost immediately by torrential rain. The perfect snowstorm became a devastating erosion event, with many parts of Angeles Crest Highway still being repaired after both debris flows and road surface collapses.

Caught behind the closure, Chilao School, owned and operated by the 501(c)(3) non profit Redbird, has remained closed, hosting just one event in the whole of 2023. People are longing for the forest, and Chilao School longs for the laughter and happy voices of friends old and new.

Postcards From Chilao, a twelve month calendar featuring the scenes and wild inhabitants of Chilao, seeks to keep people connected to their forest, even if they can't get there in person. Print on demand publishing allows Redbird to offer the calendar without incurring printing costs, and $5.34 from the purchase of every calendar goes directly to Redbird.
