Expected Snow Closes Roads in Angeles National Forest
Roads will be closed in the Angeles National Forest due to forecasted slick and snowy conditions, but access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.

Based on the weekend's forecast of snow and icy road conditions, the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works has announced that it will close public access to the several county roads within the Angeles Forest by 5 a.m. Saturday.
The closures are: Angeles Forest Highway from Aliso Canyon Road to Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road from Angeles Forest Highway to SR-2 (Angeles Crest Highway).
Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, including Public Works personnel. Local access will not be permitted until weather conditions have improved, the roads have been made safe for travel and closures have been lifted.
Bob Spencer, Chief of Public Affairs for LA County Public Works, wrote in a preapred statement that the department was taking this action as a safety precaution.

“We urge residents to continue to monitor news broadcasts, or visit the CARE website at www.dpwcare.org for further updates,” Spencer said, adding Public Works is prepared to keep the parking lot, boarding platform, and access from county highways for the Acton Vincent Metrolink Station facilities open during the forecasted storm.
Public Works is also coordinating with Metro link to inform the public of the potential for road closures and travel restrictions and encourage Metro link as an alternative in the event of such closures and restrictions.
Residents, business owners and persons with access or functional needs may also call 2-1-1 for LA County information and referral services regarding post disaster resources that are available to those affected by the floods and debris and mud flow. The toll-free 2-1-1 number is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week. 211 LA County Services can also be accessed by visiting www.211la.org.
