Another Stabbing Victim Alleged in Murder With Laguna Beach Ties

Prosecutors file two charges against a man accused of killing his former Laguna Beach High classmate at a Santa Monica party.

The man accused of murdering his onetime Laguna Beach High classmate at a Santa Monica party also allegedly stabbed a young girl in the hand as she attempted to break up the deadly fight, police said Friday.

Los Angeles County prosecutors have charged Ryan Tyler Bright with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder in the killing of Jensen Gray, 27, of Laguna Beach.

Bright is scheduled to enter a plea July 26, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's office.

The two men were at a party early Wednesday morning at an apartment in downtown Santa Monica when Gray was stabbed with a knife multiple times.

A Santa Monica Police Department spokeswoman has said the men knew each other, but would not comment on the extent of their relationship.

Bright, 26, had only recently relocated to Santa Monica. It was not clear if he was living in the Archstone Santa Monica Apartments, where the murder occurred.

He and Gray had multiple convictions in Orange County for drug possession and other charges.

Online jail records showed Bright remains jailed in lieu of $1 million bail.
